“Steve, Danielle and the crew are fabulous. Conscientious, timely and responsive. The software they use made it so easy to ask the questions and get the answers. Our project was a complete renovation and it was easy. A word usually not associated with a contractor or renovation project. Thank you HHI.”

“This company was wonderful to work with. They responded immediately to any questions I had, any updates I asked for, and any small repair I had, even after completion. He kept within my budget. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting a general contractor or anyone wanting to do a remodel. He took my vision of a complete remodel and executed it beautifully. As a result of this company's work, I was able to put this unit on the market which commanded the highest price sold in the condo complex.”

“HHI remodeled one end of our house last Spring. They redid three bedrooms and changed a jack and Jill bath into two separate baths. Floors, walls, fixtures and plumbing and electrical. All very high quality workmanship. We are very happy with the results and they finished on time and on budget.”

“As a realtor, I have to be able to trust the contractors I refer to my clients. Steve Young & Allen Helton do what they say they are going to do and they are excellent in their fields of expertise. Regardless of the type of construction or the complexity of the renovation their team will meet and exceed your expectations. Their design build approach insures that they can accomplish your goals. If your considering a renovation in the near future, give them a chance to earn your business.”

“HHI has to be one of the most thorough, meticulous and communicative contractors on the Island. No scope is too big for their team to take on. If you're considering remodeling your home, condo, primary, secondary, or vacation rental on Hilton Head, I couldn't recommend them highly enough! PURE CLASS!”

• ★★★★★

“We just finished our first renovation project with this crew and I cannot recommend them enough. From the start, Steve was very responsive, scheduling a walk thru of the projects I had in mind within 24 hours of my first contact with him. He was very knowledgeable and considerate and listened to every detail I was looking for in a small bathroom remodel and fireplace reface. The crew were very polite as we were home the whole time they worked, and allowed me to be as involved in the design/project as I wanted. Steve made himself available throughout the entire project as well. For example, the guys started putting in a tile I picked out and once it was on the wall, I immediately hated it. Within an hour, Steve had the tile removed and replaced. I could not be happier with the finished product and the quality of work delivered. We cannot wait to update the rest of the house and work with this crew again!!”

“Steve and his team at HHI Builders did a an excellent job to help us design and construct a full interior renovation of our 30+ year old house. His team was responsive, very knowledgeable and the construction management tool he used was a great way to communicate and stay organized. HHI took care of all of the permits and understood was was required with the town. The end result was terrific !!!”

“HHI Builders continually went above and beyond to ensure that the total renovation of our Villa was perfect! As we live four hours from our beautiful vacation Villa, Steve sent updated pictures on a regular basis to show us the progress of construction. We were in regular, almost daily, communication with Steve via phone calls and email. He kept us apprised of every detail of the renovation. The estimate for the renovation was accurate and when I made changes along the way, Steve provided the updated price in a timely manner. He offered suggestions for modifications to my original design which were great improvements to the renovation. His knowledge and expertise are remarkable and he was able to guide me through the renovation process, always with kindness and patience! In addition, those that work for him are experts in their craft and took great care in the renovation. All were polite, respectful and worked diligently to complete our Villa to like-new condition! I highly recommend Steve Young and his company for any of your construction needs!”

“Remodeling a house from a distance is a challenge at best, thankfully we were connected with HHI-Builders as they made the process so easy. We completed an entire home remodel including new carpeting, painting, electrical work, recessed lighting and ceiling fans, exterior lighting, down to the studs renovations on 5 bathrooms, painting of kitchen and bath cabinets, completion of a garage renovation and so many smaller items. HHI-Builders treated our home like it was their own, pointing out ideas along the way to really complete the look. They completed punch list items quickly and even found some items above and beyond our list they wanted to improve upon. The project started on time and finished on time, providing all at a very reasonable cost. They did a great job with communication on progress, sending pictures along the way. We could not be happier with the final results and would strongly recommend hiring this company no matter what your remodel project size in the Hilton Head Island area.”

“We had a great experience with Steve Young and his team at HHI Builders. Not only was all their work of high quality done in a timely and professional manner, but all members of the HHI Team were always very easy to work with and easy to communicate with at all times. During renovation, which lasted about 5 months, the HHI team kept us updated at every step of the remodel and even met with us on each of our visits to Hilton Head Island during this process. I would highly recommend HHI Builders to anyone considering building or remodeling their home in Sea Pines or elsewhere on Hilton Head Island.”

“My Kitchen Reno was everything I hoped it would be. They did the process with using all the required permits, which was very important to me. I knew what I wanted and Steve provided exactly that. Workers were polite, clean and work was completed in the timeframe we agreed on. I will use them again for any home improvements that I complete.”

“Bingo! I won! My renovation is stunning. A visit to my house now includes a walk through my new primary bedroom, walk-in closet, primary bathroom, mudroom closet, and a nod to additional improvements throughout the house. Everyone agrees that the project is a winner. I considered 4 different contractors and had just about given up on doing this renovation when Dalton walked in the door. He assured me that HHI Builders could build me a beautiful project. And he offered ideas on how to increase the size of my small bathroom. An appointment in the office of HHI further convinced me that Danielle and Steve would deliver a great renovation. They listened. They were organized, and kept me informed daily of work that was completed. And I even received an additional summary of the week's work. Electricians, plumber, the tile guy, painters, were all top notch. Chris, the master carpenter, amazed me with his talent and the way he brought the vision to the next level. And suddenly the job was completed. HHI didn't just fade away. Fabian came by to fine tune. Cleaners were sent to clean the entire house. A thank you gift and a special evening on the Salty Dog cruise showed me that not only did I appreciate HHI, they appreciated me as a customer. Who does that?! I have additional projects in mind. I will hire HHI once again. No other company will do.”

“We used HHI Builders for a bathroom, a kitchen and a laundry room remodeling. They were fabulous during all stages of the job. The completed rooms are even better than what we had envisioned. Dalton and Danielle were available at all times to answer questions and give suggestions. Perhaps the best testimonial is that we are having them complete another job for us in 2026.”

“We had a very positive experience working with HHI Builders on the design and construction of our new front entrance, which included a porch, metal roof, new door and gable. From the beginning, the process felt very collaborative, and the team was genuinely excited about the project. As with most construction projects, there were a few bumps along the way. In our case, we experienced torrential rain (and not just a little rain) during the same week our new roof was being installed, which resulted in water getting into the house. HHI Builders didn’t hesitate. They showed up on a Friday evening, in the rain and lightning, to cover and secure the roof. That moment (3 hours getting soaked in the roof) really stood out to us. We also had an issue with some framing, which was corrected and made right at no additional cost. Just as important, what we agreed to upfront is exactly what we were charged at the end. Having that clarity made it much easier to make confident decisions throughout the renovation. We worked closely with the owner, the design team, and our on-site supervisor, and every interaction was professional and respectful. Dalton and Taylor, in particular, were a pleasure to work with. I truly enjoyed working with both of them. They were responsive, thoughtful, and genuinely cared about getting things right. Beyond this project, they’re simply great people. We absolutely love the new look of our home and felt very fortunate to be one of HHI Builders’ clients. We would happily recommend them to anyone considering a renovation or building project.”

“HHI Builders did a phenomenal job remodeling three bathrooms in our home. We also had to repipe our entire home, and they managed it beautifully. I appreciated the care they took to protect our floors and personal belongings throughout the project and to respectfully work around us as we were living in the home during construction. From start to finish, communication has been clear with daily progress reports and pictures. Big shout out to project manager Charlie Gleeson, who has patiently and tirelessly solved all problems, big and small. He is a man of his word and gets the job done no matter what it takes. Ryan Morrison has also been extremely helpful throughout the project, from planning to problem solving. HHI Builders has a talented group of subs who do excellent work. Everyone we've worked with has been polite and professional. High praise for the clean-up crew. I thought we would never see the end of the dust, but they took care of it all, and our house is sparkling again. We're thrilled with the results and look forward to working with HHI Builders on our next project.”

“HHI builders did excellent work. They showed up on time every day and completed the work on schedule. Communications were very good. Issues and deviations from plan were clearly explained beforehand. Charlie (owner) stopped in almost every day to review progress. Pricing seemed somewhat high but we did not get competitive bids so not sure.”

“HHI Builders is the real deal! 6 contractors met with us, but only 2 followed up with proposals. Steve provided a detailed proposal and worked with us until we were completely happy. Our renovation included a full kitchen, full bathroom, partial bath, front entry, and lots of interior painting. HHI met our budget and timeline, and kept us informed throughout the project. The team is very knowledgeable and guided us through the process of making the many selections needed. We’re thrilled with the results!”
